Four students represented PODEMOS at the 2009 Global Health Education Consortium conference held April 3-5, 2009 on the Unversity of Washington's campus in Seattle, Washington.  Students Janice Esker and Matthew Imm presented posters entitled "Pediatric Malnutrition Indicates a Disparity in the Social Predictors of Nutrition in Two Honduran Communites" and "Assessing Education Level Aids in the Distribution of Resources in a Developing Global Health Program in Honduras," respectively, while students Sarah Brummel and Stephen Morrical discussed the influence of women on family health during a lunchtime table talk.  Please see the "Research" section of our website for more details about the research we are conducting.

In addition, student Matthew Imm was recognized with The Lancet-GHEC Outstanding Community Service Award for his work with PODEMOS.  This award is given to a student or resident for a community service project that "addressess the needs of a disadvantaged or underprivileged community and has had a significant impact in the relevant community."
