2009-10 Leadership

Ben Reiss is a second year medical student at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with B.A. in Biology. His international experience has included mission trips to Honduras, working in a rural health clinic in the Philippines, as well as travel to South America, SE Asia, the Middle East, Australia, and Europe. His career interests are infectious diseases, intervention radiology, and global health education.
Vice President: Reena Patel (Med 2)

Reena Patel is an OSU alumni and who has been interested in global health for many years. Her global career began with PODEMOS on its first Winter trip in 2009. This past summer she traveled to Western Kenya to work in mobile clinics for 5 weeks. Reena hopes to continue my work with PODEMOS throughout the next couple years. At the present time she is interested in learning as much as she can about global health. Her current interests in medicine include OB/GYN, psychiatry, and pediatrics.
Fundraising Chair: Rachael Sullivan (Med 4)

Rachael Sullivan was born in northwest Ohio, obtaining her undergraduate degree in Honors Biology from the University of Toledo in 2006. She minored in Spanish and Chemistry at Toledo, as well as studied abroad in Salford, England near Manchester during her Junior year before moving on to Alicante, Spain to study spanish. She has been involved in various volunteer activities since high school, both in the US rebuilding homes in the Appalachian region, as well as medical volunteering abroad in both Peru, Mexico City, and Honduras during medical school at The Ohio State University. She plans to pursue a career in General Surgery, and eventually Surgical Oncology, after graduation from medical school in June 2010.
Research/Education Chair: Bryn Trogdon (NS 2)

Bryn Trogdon is a second year family nurse practitioner student at Ohio State. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Ohio Wesleyan University with a B.A. in Theatre. She recently traveled with PODEMOS on the summer 2009 trip. For the past four years, Bryn has volunteered on medical missions in Peru, Costa Rica, and Nicaragua. In the future, she hopes to work with immigrant populations as a family nurse practitioner.
Supplies/Pharmacy Coordinator: Andrea Robinson (NS 2)

Andrea Robinson, B.S., is a second year Adult Health and Illness nurse practitioner student at The Ohio State University College of Nursing. She received her B.S. in Business Administration from Fisher College of Business at OSU in 2005. Upon graduation, Andrea accepted a position with Pfizer pharmaceuticals, where she spent three years as a pharmaceutical sales representative in the Urology and Respiratory divisions. Andrea has traveled with PODEMOS to Honduras in June 2009 and December 2009 and is the founder and president of NPSIRE, a nursing student group that is dedicated to educating students on healthcare disparities and iniquities and serving under-served medical populations. Andrea's career interests include global health and cardiovascular disease.
