PODEMOS made it's first appearance at an international conference on May 19, 2010, at the 19th Annual WONCA Conference of Family Doctors in Cancun, Mexico. Four members and PODEMOS advisor, Dr. Paul Nanda, attended the conference which held the theme "THE MILLENNIUM DEVELOPMENT GOALS (MDGs): THE CONTRIBUTION OF FAMILY MEDICINE." The group presented two posters at the poster session on May 21, both of which were well received. Pictured above are Jan Esker and Stephen Morrical with their poster entitled "Differences in Nutritional Status of Pediatric Populations in Two Honduran Communities."
Congratulations, PODEMOS, on another successful clinical trip!

PODEMOS will be showing a little more Buckeye spirit this football season by hosting tailgates. Stay tuned to learn when and where to get your buckeye necklaces and hotdogs on game day.
Relationships
The Partnership for Ongoing Developmental, Educational, and Medical Outreach Services
(PODEMOS) strives to provide both essential primary care services to marginalized
communities in Honduras and to provide a valuable medical educational experience to health
professional students at The Ohio State University.
Research
Our organization is built on the concept that the evidence based provision of care through
consistent short term interventions can provide important long term value to patients who
would have no other access to management of chronic or debilitating conditions.
Relief
Our strategy is focused on patient empowerment through health education, personal medical
record keeping and healthcare that reflects the physical and cultural realities of the communities
we serve. By addressing the specific needs of specific populations we aim to build a sustainable
and reliable relationship with our patients and their communities.
